The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Graduate Admission office at the Doheny campus.
Work closely with Graduate Admission Counselors to support and coordinate on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, such as information sessions, open house, social mixers, graduate school fairs, and campus and class visits.
When prompted, conduct student data and market program research to support departmental objectives and strategic initiatives.
Assist the Director and Graduate Admission Counselors with entering prospect data in database of record (WebUI) and monitoring accuracy of such data entry.
Provide general administrative assistance in the Office of Graduate Admissions, including, but not limited to: answering incoming phone calls, making outbound calls, greeting student walk-ins, retriving mail twice a day, and maintaining office supplies.
Background in student development and leadership education.
Understanding of and sensitivity to, a university environment and students' needs.
Strong working knowledge of an office environment, policies, procedures and standard office equipment.
Solid working knowledge of computers and various current software applications (e.g., MS Office, databases, spreadsheets).
Abilities and Skills:
Effectively organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlines.
Currently enrolled in a Master's program in higher education, student affairs, or comparable field.
Minimum of one year previous experience in a diverse office environment required.
Experience working with diverse student populations, preferred.
