DUTIES: The Admissions Counselor will perform administrative activities necessary for the effective planning, coordination and implementation of initiatives to enhance and streamline the Student Application Process. Duties and responsibilities will include: the coordination, timely and accurate processing of admissions applications for the College of Medicine (COM), College of Health Related Professions (CHRP), College of Nursing (CON), and the School of Public Health (SPH). Directly responsible for performing administrative activities necessary to enhance and streamline the student application and interview process. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: scheduling interviews, processing of the College of Medicine applications, including the maintenance of accurate and complete interviewee files. Candidate should be familiar with the admissions requirements and admissions procedures for the College of Health Related Professions, College of Medicine and College of Nursing - to provide accurate information by phone/in-person; know how to handle difficult people in person/by phone. Data entry, scanning and retrieval of sensitive documents. Assist in the coordination of special events including but not limited to: Admissions Committee, Research Day, White Coat Ceremony and Open House/Information Sessions. Gather data from the applicant's database and interview module for the preparation of accurate and timely admissions related reports, and design formats for the various reports and forms as required. Assist with the monitoring of expenditures and with the planning and coordination of room reservations and food orders. Accurately respond to questions from other offices, agencies, or the public regarding applicant information and admissions process. Serve as relief receptionist, greet applicants and respond to questions from prospective applicants. Counsel prospective applicants to all programs across all colleges as needed. Develop a general knowledge of other student support areas (e.g. Financial Aid, Registrar, Residential Life, Student Affairs, Bursar, etc.). Assist with other administrative duties as required. Assist with the improving overall image, productivity and student friendly delivery of services in the Office of Student Admissions, including setting an example as an approachable, resourceful and thorough professional for co-workers and office clientele. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree/equivalent and a minimum of two years current work experience in a college of university setting (or equivalent). Proficiency in work processing, data entry and experience working with Student Information System or computer database. Must possess excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills. Must be detailed oriented. Experience with Banner, AMCAS, and ApplyYourself/PeopleSoft. Additional Info: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees.
