University of Evansville Regional Admission Representative that will reside in the Greater Dallas, Texas, area. The successful candidate will work with current admission staff to provide outstanding service to prospective, applied, and admitted students.
The candidate is responsible for coordinating prospective student outreach efforts (on and off campus), counseling and advising prospective students, managing the application process from time of file completion through matriculation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to lead others and to work productively as a member of a group. Additionally, candidates with a desire for increasing professional development will find themselves well suited in this position. They will also demonstrate a deep understanding of the University’s mission as it relates to recruitment and admission of a diverse and talented student body.
Represent the University to prospective students and their families in the Greater DFW area and select areas throughout Texas.
Attend college fairs/nights and make individual visits to high schools in those aforementioned areas during the academic year.
Organize and supervise admission events in the area (receptions, regional group info sessions, send-off parties, and the like).
Telecounsel with prospective students to encourage campus visits as well as application; maintain appropriate follow-up communications with these students regarding the status of their applications for admission and financial aid.
Work closely with other University admission counselors to insure appropriate coverage of college fairs/nights in the area.
Meet regularly and build relationships with area high school counselors.
Work closely with the University Diversity and Equity Officer to insure success in attracting and enrolling a diverse student population.
Mobilize alumni, in cooperation with the Office of Alumni Relations, to support recruitment efforts in the area.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies, including student and parents.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Excellent technology and social media skills.
Recruitment travel is required; a valid driver's license and a willingness to travel by air are required.
Ability to meet annual recruitment goals.
Travel to high schools, college fairs, and other events as assigned; serving as a representative of the University of Evansville; overnight travel could be expected.
Report on a weekly/bi-weekly basis various admission and recruitment activities.
Seasonal evening and weekend work will be necessary.
The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree. Experience in student recruitment, admissions, or any equivalent combination of relevant education is preferred. S/he will be highly organized with strong analytical ability. Preference will be given to candidates with at least 3 years of admission experience. Ability to work well under deadlines and a considerable degree of flexibility and initiative is required. This position requires the use of technology and data to determine the success of performance. Most importantly, we're looking for candidates who are outgoing, creative, enthusiastic, and resonate with our mission and values.
Irregular work hours required, including nights and weekends. Occasional moderate lifting (20-25 pounds) required. Applicant must be able to drive an automobile and be insurable. Working beyond a normal 40-hour week can occur. Ability to use technology and be available after hours could be necessary.
