Xavier University’s Division of Enrollment Management & Student Success invites applications for a Financial Aid Counselor/Graduate Recruiter. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, with significant responsibility in both Financial Aid and Graduate Admission.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administration of federal, state and institutional financial aid, review of financial aid files, conducts needs analysis, financial aid packaging and federal verification.
Counsels students/parents over the phone as well as in person.
Plans and attends college and employer events for graduate program recruiting.
Markets, monitors, and provides tracking of prospective students in assigned territory/programs; establishing and maintaining relationships with prospective students and company representatives; thorough documentation of student contact in Slate database.
Functions as primary liaison between Graduate Admission/Enrollment Management and faculty/staff in assigned programs.
Oversees application process for assigned programs and ensures that documents are in order such that decisions are made by the individual program in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include: bachelor’s degree; experience working in university admission/enrollment management/financial aid, sales, customer service, or similar; ability to present effectively in front of a variety of audiences; outgoing personality; strong written and verbal communication skills; valid driver’s license; ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; and willingness to work frequent evenings and weekends.
