Position Overview: The International College Counselor (ICC) works with the International Team at The
Princeton Review. The Counselor will be serving international students in various partner countries to provide high level strategic advice on the students’ admission applications for US colleges. The position is flexible part time that could lead to full time. He/She will work in conjunction with a local college coach who is responsible for supporting families as they navigate the college application process and for developing and maintaining relationships with students and their families. This is a remote position. The ICC reports to the International Operations Manager.
Inform students and families about US college admissions, our program and how we can help them
Survey students to understand their profile and guide them to the best strategic approach to applications
Assist with school research and determine an appropriate list of target schools
Advise on essay topics and activities to be listed on applications
Conduct a final review of all work done by student prior to submission
Work closely with local Coach to assist in all of the above tasks
Hold virtual meetings with students and families
At all times encourage students and keep parents in the loop. Contribute to growth and development of the Coaching program by participating in strategic planning, training, product development, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
At least two years of experience in an undergrad admissions office
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is deadline driven
Flexibility with work schedule in response to different time zones and the cyclical nature of the college admissions process and the varied communication preferences of our students
Availability to work out of normal work hours during peak seasons
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Comfortable using the latest technologies/learning new technologies
Selective school experience
Experience working with students in an educational setting
Work in international student admissions
Customer service experience
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience.
