Posting Summary: The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for an Admissions Counselor. This position is responsible for the recruitment of students, including visiting assigned high schools and community colleges; conducting interviews and tours; reviewing applications for admissions; reviewing, analyzing, assessing and processing information, records and transcripts for determining academic credit and eligibility for degrees and specialized program designations; providing accurate and timely communication to prospective students, high school and community college counselors, parents and other constituents; and advising students and departments about regulations governing such areas as tuition, academic calendar, grading system, and curricula requirements.
A bachelor's degree is required as well as excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Excellent computer skills are essential.

Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to develop and maintain a personal database, effectively create mail merge documents, construct and deliver specifically targeted emails, be familiar with and able to use desktop publishing suites and be able to construct a functional web page.
