The Alumni Relations and Social Media Coordinator is an entry level position working closely with the Director of Scholarships and Alumni Relations to create and maintain the scholarship recipient alumni database and network. This position will manage all social media and web content for the Scholarships department and be responsible for outreach to scholarship alumni.
Creates and maintains the scholarship alumni database.
Oversees the updating of records for scholarship alumni.
Develops and maintains relationships with current scholarship recipients in addition to scholarship alumni.
Arranges, communicates, and participates in social events with scholarship alumni.
Provide media content for the Scholarships portion of the Watson-Brown Foundation website.
Responsible for providing candidates for the “Alumni Spotlight” of the quarterly Legacy.
Develops creative media content on various social media platforms.
Maintains social media accounts for the Scholarships and Alumni Relations programs.
Demonstrates professionalism on social media.
Provides support to the Director of Scholarships and Alumni Relations during the scholarship application process.
Other tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, education, or any other related field.
One to two years of experience in administration, education, communications, or any other related field.
One to two years of experience using various social media platforms.
Excellent verbal and written communication with an emphasis on editing and public speaking.
Technical knowledge and understanding of social media platforms.
Ability to work both independently and simultaneously on multiple projects with varying deadlines.
Must be a flexible team player with excellent organizational skills.
Experience with community outreach preferred.
