Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Admissions & Financial Aid Counselor/Assistant Director works as a member of the admissions staff to recruit prospective students for Manhattan College's undergraduate programs. Responsibilities include managing assigned travel territories through extensive travel for approximately 12 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring by visiting high schools and attending college fairs. Flexibility, willingness to travel long distances and work evenings and weekends are a must.
Other responsibilities include a strong knowledge and understanding of social media applications, interviewing prospective students, working with families who are navigating the college search process, participation in campus recruitment events, and evaluating undergraduate applications for admissions. The Admissions & Financial Aid Counselor/Assistant Director will also work closely with members of the Financial Aid Staff to provide pertinent information to families applying for need and merit based financial aid.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; strong interpersonal skills and excellent writing and public speaking skills. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with guidance counselors, prospective students and their families; Valid drivers license. Preference will be given in the evaluation process to candidates with prior experience working in an undergraduate admissions office. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
