Join the Outreach and Selection department and oversee scholarship program application and selection activities for the Fulbright U.S. and Foreign Student Programs and manage a team that oversees the development, testing, and implementation of various application and selection processes for United States Government (USG), Corporate, and Foundation funded scholarship programs. IIE seeks a Manager with experience outlining best practices for student and participant application processes, managing database systems, managing and refining a nationally competitive selection process, including the management of recruiting over several hundred selection panelists annually and maintaining quality control of applicant communications.
Oversees the delivery of high quality online application and selection processes capturing the identified qualifications as determined by the client/sponsor. Receives and analyzes requests from sponsors; recommends courses of action; manages expectations and resulting workflows. Represents IIE at program meetings and with internal and external parties.
Collaborates with colleagues to streamline standard operating procedures within department; identifies and implements process improvements. Develops proposals, scopes of work, and deliverable reports.
Prioritizes, organizes, distributes, and coordinates the flow of work. Ensures that prescribed policies, procedures, and schedules are followed.
Guides individual team member performance via timely communication and support. Identifies appropriate training and development opportunities to contribute to the achievement of department goals.
Researches the application and selection environment and collaborates with IIE leadership and the Outreach team on targeted outreach strategies.
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
Requires at least five years of related work experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate, advise, and persuade on matters that are highly complex and sensitive in nature.
Proven ability to manage complex programs.
Must have direct experience managing the back- end of the application process and participating in the selection process for a scholarship/award program or admissions office.
Experience with relational databases, data integrity best practices, customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Familiarity with fellowship/scholarship programs with applicants from around the world, preferred.
In-depth knowledge of industry standards, systems and guidelines for application and selection processes and services.
Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner, with superior attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop high-functioning teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
