Reporting to the Managing Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Undergraduate Regional Admissions Counselor supports the enrollment efforts of Kean University by recruiting prospective applicants in out-of-state territories and representing the University in a variety of settings such as high school presentations, college fairs, college night programs, on-campus visits and special events; meets individual recruitment goals to support the University’s enrollment efforts in the assigned territory; performs basic professional functions using established policies, procedures and guidelines; and does related work as required.
These positions are ten-month assignments, effective from September 1st to June 30th that require extensive travel, driving short and long distances and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Positions will work remotely and require occasional travel to the New Jersey Kean campuses, in addition to multiple recruitment locations. One position will be responsible for covering recruitment territories in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The other position will primarily cover New York, as well as Connecticut when needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; one year of professional experience in a business environment or in an institution of higher education; and a valid driver’s license and transportation for travel is required. Master’s degree in a related field can be substituted for the one year of required experience. Experience in an admissions office in an institution of higher education and Datatel Colleague/Ellucian Recruiter experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Essential job functions include the ability to walk long distances; standing for long periods; lifting, handling and transporting recruitment materials and equipment; and driving.
