Position Title: Assistant Director of College Counseling and Testing Coordinator

Status: 12-Month, Residential Faculty
The Hill School, a boarding school founded in 1851, seeks an Assistant Director of College Counseling and Testing Coordinator. Reporting to The Director of College Counseling, this position will work closely with three other counselors and an administrative assistant to guide Hill students through the college admissions process. This Assistant Director will be responsible for educating Hill constituencies (including students and families) about college admissions issues, helping students and families navigate the actual application process, promoting The Hill’s program to colleges, and providing insightful guidance to direct Hill students towards appropriate colleges and universities that fit their academic and personal needs.
Managing a caseload of approximately 15-20 sixth form (senior) students, including periodic meetings with each assigned counselee;
Writing the official school recommendation for each assigned counselee;
Teaching assigned sections in the school’s College Seminar class;
Meeting with college admissions representatives;
Communicating with parents as appropriate;
Actively participating in regional, state, and national professional organizations;
Traveling to conferences and individual colleges and universities to gain greater insight about the process and to nurture and develop important professional relationships;
Developing and planning relevant on-campus programming related to the college search process;
Coordinating, monitoring and administering all college entrance exams to students who register to take exams at The Hill national testing site (requiring a fixed number of Saturday exams);
Engaging in professional development relative to standardized testing such as College Board Conferences;
Maintaining the testing section of The Hill School website;
Managing score report data in all relevant areas;
Coordinating and monitoring test prep courses (both online and on-campus);
Serving as liaison to all standardized testing agencies;
Other duties as assigned, and
Fulfilling other residential school duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate for the position.
Participate in the School’s co-curricular programs for two of the three terms each academic year.
