POSITION: Full-time, 12-month, annual renewable appointment based on funding & performance position in Admissions at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting April 17, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. This position reports to the Director of Admissions of the University of Minnesota Crookston. An excellent fringe benefit package is offered.
JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Admissions is a second level student services professional position responsible for assisting the director in accomplishing departmental goals, recruitment and strategic enrollment planning. This position is responsible for recruitment, the management of Admission activities and providing professional support in the Admissions Office. Tasks include but are not limited to recruiting and admissions, student support services, student affairs, and enrollment and registration, etc. Position oversees the daily operations of on campus Admission student services operations, communications and programs. This position is responsible for handling a variety of assigned projects, applying subject matter knowledge, providing leadership to staff, coordinating work activities of Admissions unit, and setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and a business plan; receives leadership, guidance and oversight from Director of Admissions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees, manages and executes the campus recruitment and enrollment processes. Oversees and collaborates with the strategic marketing, recruitment and communication activities for all student populations; manages a geographic territory, organizes recruitment trips, including overnight travel. (40%) Leads staff, coordinates the work activities of the Admissions unit, and sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and goal achievement. Manages and is responsible for the day-to-day correspondence with students regarding admission questions; evaluates transfer credit and acceptance thereof. Guides and effectively communicates (using the CRM) with current and prospective students, internal and external constituents. Assist with development and deployment of recruitment collateral materials; reviews applications for admissibility; responsible for and identifies admissions decisions on first-year and transfer applicants, inquiries and admits. Prepare and maintain regular reports using CRM and other University platforms (60%).
