Director of Admissions (Full-time)
Reporting to the Vice President for Admissions & Financial Aid, the Director of Admissions provides leadership for all phases of recruitment and admission of new freshman and transfer students to advance the mission and strategic plan of Whitworth University.
Responsibilities and Related duties
Develop, manage and evaluate recruitment and admissions strategies to achieve enrollment goals.
Collaborate with the vice president in setting recruitment goals and admitting guidelines.
Assign recruitment territories; collaborate with admissions counselors to plan and execute territory management.
Develop and maintain admissions tracking reports.
Manage a recruiting territory, serving as a role model for staff for effective territory management.
Convene and lead regular staff meetings, maintaining a culture of collaboration, transparency, excellence and fun.
Supervise the admissions recruitment and operations staff
Oversee hiring, training, coaching and team-building for all admissions staff.
Engage all staff members in advancing the goals of the department and the university.
Prepare and communicate annual performance reviews.
Oversee the process to hire, train, schedule and supervise student workers, including tour guides, overnight hosts and office assistants.
Oversee the campus visit program
Work with the Asst. Director for Campus Visits to plan and implement successful campus visit events.
Help to engage relevant campus partners to participate in campus visit programs.
Review visit evaluations and direct updates/improvements as appropriate.
Collaborate with Vice President in developing and managing admissions office budget.
Develop budget estimates for recruitment and visit programs.
Review monthly recruitment/visit expenses.
Collaborate with the Vice President in overseeing admissions marketing, communications and data management operations.
Co-supervise, with the Vice President, the Associate Director for Admissions Data and Communications.
Oversee the timely and accurate management of prospective student dataHelp develop and manage an integrated marketing communications plan to engage prospective students and parents, through print, email, web, social media, texting and in-person outreach.
Partner with Vice President and Director of Financial Aid on strategic enrollment management
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in recruitment and retention of traditional undergraduate students.
Collaborate in developing and implementing strategies to achieve enrollment goals.
Participate in selection and engagement of key enrollment vendors and consultants.
Participate in planning and leading regular enrollment services retreats and professional development
Complete other duties as assigned by the Vice President.
