Summary of Duties:
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking an Admissions Counselor and Staff Assistant. This position will serve as the frontline for the office and is often the first person a prospective student will meet during their admission process. Additionally, this position is responsible for the processing of applications, scheduling advising sessions, phone advising, and supporting the recruitment efforts of the admissions team. – The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.

Under general supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Admission Counselor and Staff Assistant will manage the processing of incoming dental hygiene, DentPath and dental student applications and credentials; and the creation, generation of, and maintenance of statistical reporting. This staff members will provide administrative support for the College of Dentistry's Office of Admissions data management and general operations; assist with preparation for admissions events; and perform other operational duties as needed.
Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., some nights and weekends.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. A valid driver's license.
Bachelor’s degree; experience in counselor or college admissions; two years of experience working with database systems; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; high level working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to type 50 WPM; excellent planning, time management and organization skills; ability to pay attention to details and commitment to the integrity of the work; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the capacity to relate to diverse constituencies and build relationships; good written and oral communication skills.
At least one year of experience working in an admissions office; experience with PeopleSoft, Liason CAS application services (WebAdMIT); experience processing high volumes (e.g., 1,300 over 3 months) of applications.
Target Salary: $14.23 - $15.63 Hourly
