The Admission Counselor manages recruiting and admission activities for an assigned territory. This person will determine the target markets for recruiting; counsel students on the admission process; review files and make admission decisions; and collaborate with internal/external partners to achieve the University's strategic undergraduate enrollment goals. This position has the potential to be hired as a Senior Counselor commensurate with experience.
1+ year professional experience delivering presentations to a variety of audiences
1+ year professional experience working with Excel and Google Apps
Ability to travel and work weekends and evenings as required
Reliable transportation to recruiting events
Valid Driver's License
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, influencing and coaching skills
Exercise independent judgment in making admissions decisions
Creative problem solver
Understand and speak to the benefits of a liberal arts education within a private educational institution
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Apps
Ability and willingness to work with a diverse population of students
Strong strategic thinking skills
Be familiar and comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and exercise best practices with regard to the maintenance of confidential student information.
