Job Description Summary The Associate Vice President for Enrollment (AVPE) reports directly to the Vice President for Student Success and Inclusion and is a critical leader in the efforts toward Strategic Enrollment Management. S/He will build, maintain and inspire a motivated team of individuals in the admissions and recruitment office and must effectively collaborate across institutional divisions and schools to achieve enrollment goals. The AVPE will provide leadership, direction, and implementation of a comprehensive and innovative admissions and recruitment strategy in line with the overall enrollment strategy that (a) is continuously assessed and refined and (b) is consistent with the goals, mission, and resources of the university. The selected candidate will provide the direct leadership for the admissions and recruitment functions including planning and facilitation, daily operations, systems management and continuous improvement. The AVPE works closely with the Vice President and the Deans Council to ensure that University-wide policies, procedures, and services are conducive for student selection, matriculation, and program viability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team for the Division of Strategic Enrollment Management • Provide leadership and direction in the form of direct supervision for the central admission and recruitment staff and operations at the University including Prospect and candidate tracking and management, application systems management and integration, communications management, and facilitation. • Effectively manage data t and reporting on all functions. • Ensure recruitment planning and coordination effectively for all colleges and schools meeting the enrollment goals of the individual programs and the university. • Effectively communicate and represent the academic programs to prospective students and our partners. • Develop both on and off campus recruitment events and supervise recruitment and admission staff in effective facilitation. • Collaborate with marketing and communications in order to facilitate effective marketing materials suitable to meet the diverse needs of prospective students and representative of the various programs. • Collaborate with university partners to lead intentional planning for communication with candidates and effect yield management. • Integrates and manages CRM, ERP and application systems for seamless service to students and the institution. • Manage division-wide efforts for monitoring and contributing to the University social media platforms representing admissions and recruitment information.
Required Education & Experience • Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership or related field. • Ten years of progressively responsible experience in enrollment management or equivalent. • At least 3 years of primary administration leadership for admissions and recruitment function with demonstrated experience in strategic enrollment planning, change leadership and development management, budgeting and professional staff supervision. • Must achieve a background check clearance.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Professional and Graduate education environment preferably in Healthcare education. • Strong system and process thinking—the ability to optimize, streamline (especially for students), and improve the student lifecycle experience from inquiry through matriculation • Knowledge of admission and recruitment strategies, legal considerations and systems management (ERP, CRM, and IR). • A data-driven bias towards goal setting, tracking, and accountability • Deep knowledge of the adult/graduate student market • The ability to train and inspire an A & R team (admissions counselors, recruiters, and others) to set and meet aggressive enrollment goals • Ability to work with diverse populations including students, faculty, alumni, and staff populations. • Ability to analyze complex environments and programs and develop appropriate goals and strategies for solution. • Excellent skills in the management of processes and people, and experience in supervision of professional, masters+-level staff in higher education environment. • Highly developed project management & leadership experience. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. • Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices of higher education and enrollment management administrative models, philosophies, and principles. • Knowledge of applicable University, state, and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Experience providing training and facilitation with an understanding of environmental dynamics and cultural awareness • Excellent event planning, marketing, and implementation concepts and techniques • Proficiency and knowledge of personal computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
