Sarah Lawrence College, Admissions Office seeks candidates for the position of an Assistant Director of Admissions.
General responsibilities include managing all aspects of a significant territory, from recruitment to enrollment. This position will include: traveling to visit high schools, college fairs, and community-based organizations; conducting information sessions and interviews with prospective students, both on and off campus; corresponding and communicating with prospective students, families, as well as guidance and college counselors; reading applications and serving on admissions committees.
Additional duties as assigned: Must be willing to travel extensively and work extended hours, evenings, and weekends when necessary.
The position requires at least two years of full-time college admission experience, outstanding communication and organizational skills, strong, self-motivated work ethic, and an appreciation of the value of a liberal arts education; outstanding knowledge of technology, and excellent planning, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, creativity, the ability and confidence to exercise discretion while working independently and as part of a team, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. Attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data to inform decision making are essential.
Must have at least a bachelor’s degree, a valid driver’s license, and a sense of humor.
