The appointment as associate or assistant director will be based on years of experience, job knowledge and skill set.
The Office of Admission seeks to hire an admission professional with experience organizing campus visits and events who will lead these initiatives in Agnes Scott’s newly created Elizabeth Kiss Welcome Center. This position participates in the full recruitment activities of the admission office and coordinates the campus visit program within the guidelines of federal, state and local laws and office, division and college policies and procedures. Reporting to the director of admission, this person will work with co-workers, prospective students and their families, high school counselors and alumnae in recruiting best fit students to Agnes Scott College
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Conceptualizes and plans campus visits and events while adhering to and monitoring timelines. Arranges logistics such as facilities set-up, catering, transportation, event programming and speakers.
Assists in long range planning, goal setting and territory management for the admission team specifically related to campus visit programs.
Coordinates the campus visit program for the Office of Admission to aid in recruitment and yield efforts. Examples of events include but are not limited to the following: on and off campus receptions, open houses, student and counselor group visitations.
Provides strategic leadership to the campus visit program and assists in managing the newly renovated Elizabeth Kiss Welcome Center.
Recruits students and manages applicants from within an assigned geographic territory, which involves approximately 4 weeks of travel during the fall and spring.
Strategically manages an assigned recruitment territory utilizing Slate.
Develops relationships with vendors, volunteers (students, alumnae, faculty and staff) and other stakeholders.
Conducts on-campus interviews and information sessions to both large and small groups.
Evaluates candidates for admission and scholarships and counsels students through the full enrollment cycle.
Operates within approved travel and program budgets.
Fulfills programmatic responsibilities assigned by the director of admission based on the needs of the college.
Manages training and admission staff as needed.
Supervises and mentors the Admission Experience Fellow.
Compiles extensive mid-year and annual reports.
Travels and works evenings and weekends as needed.
Education: BA/BS in a related occupational field of study. Experience: Minimum of 3 years work experience in admission, preferably in a liberal arts setting. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Event management experience required, preferably in a higher education setting.
Highly motivated, results oriented and goal driven.
Good judgment and the ability to work collegially as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Proven success working with a variety of people and personalities, managing diverse tasks simultaneously, organizing, strategizing and decision-making.
Self-starter and able to multi-task with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
Irregular evening and weekend hours required on a regular basis, depending on events, projects and travel.
Travel required from office to other locations on a regular basis.
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
