POSTINGSUMMARY: This Regional Admissions Counselor for the Maryland/Virginia/Washington D.C. area is a member of the Undergraduate Admissions Team and has responsibility for recruitment travel during the fall and spring recruitment cycles for a total of 22 weeks during the Academic Year. Weeks to be determined each year by the Associate Director of Admissions but typically will run from 8/20 – 11/30 and 3/11-5/3)
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBLITIES • Participation in extensive travel: visit schools and college fairs in the Maryland/Virginia/Washington D.C. area; attend special programs to talk with prospects, families, guidance counselors and school administrations about the University’s programs and offerings. • Remain current and well-versed in Cabrini University’s academic, social, athletic and other, general campus offerings. • Plan and host recruitment and yield events in designated territory. • Extremely frequent evening and weekend work required. • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSANDABILITIES • Ability to positively interact with diverse groups of students, parents, guidance counselors and college personnel. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Outstanding organizational skills a must. Ability to consistently meet deadlines and handle information confidentially. • Ability to work remotely and autonomously. • Possess a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Be available for frequent evening and weekend work, as well as overnight travel. • Knowledge of the secondary school systems in the Maryland/Virginia/Washington D.C. area helpful. • Must reside within the primary recruitment territory of Washington DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college/university required. Master’s degree preferred. • Experience in a college admissions office or as a school counselor preferred.
