The Undergraduate International Admissions Counselor (IAC) for UNC Greensboro is responsible for conducting overseas course and credential review, responding to inquirers and prospective students, as well as reaching out to students whose applications are pending. This is a key position, processing a high volume of applications during peak seasons. Core components of the position:
Guide prospective students in all stages of the application process from point of inquiry up to acceptance or rejection, providing clear and accurate communication that reflects positively on UNC Greensboro.
Exercise independent judgement in a fair and balanced manner; defer to university resources for final determination.
Processes all stages of the application, from initial to determination of admissibility, and readiness for final review by the Director.
Evaluate application materials, in keeping with university standards.
Conduct comprehensive overseas course credential evaluation and academic credentials of applicant.
Refer and guide applicant to WES or ECE foreign course report ordering, where necessary. Work collaboratively with Registrar’s Office and Departments/Faculty for in-house, major specific evaluation.
Work productively with departments that require secondary admission review, providing seamless transition of application and readiness for review.
Input student information, including transcripts, transfer credit, test scores into Banner and Degree Works.
Liaison to principal offices (Student Accounts, Res Life, Registrar, International Programs Center, etc.).
Work productively with Interlink IEP office, International Programs Office (IPC), New Mind Education, and UNCG School of Education’s Pathway Program.
Conduct research on market territories, create reports, assist with marketing materials.
Respond to, and follow up with, student inquiries and prospects.
Serve and participate on UNCG committees that pertain to international student issues.
Provide impeccable follow through with prospective students, colleagues, departments.
Assist Director with some U.S. or overseas recruitment, on occasion.
Assist Director with promotion of accelerated degree programs (ADPs) to prospective and current international undergraduate students.
Provide backup support to the Prospective International Graduate Student Coordinator.
Familiarity or experience with AdminPro, Slate, CAMS, or admissions software a plus.
