The University of California, Davis, one of the most dynamic higher-education institutions and ranked #10 by U.S. News World & Report among public universities in the United States, seeks a strategically-minded, thoughtful, and collaborative leader to serve as Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management.
The Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) reports directly to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor and manages five direct reports: Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions; Director of Financial Aid; the University Registrar; Director of Enrollment Analytics; and the Chief Administrative Officer (a new role that provides operational, human resources, information technology, financial, and administrative oversight). The AVC influences the size, shape and character of the undergraduate student body at UC Davis. This leader confers with and advises the Provost, leads the Enrollment Planning Task Force, and serves on various campus, system-wide and national committees. This position has a high degree of accountability and visibility, and collaborates with many stakeholders including the University of California Office of the President, Community College Leadership, K-12 Leadership, Deans and Associate Deans, Academic Senate leadership, and Directors of Administrative and Academic units. Enrollment Management begins with the integration of outreach recruitment, selection, enrollment, financial aid and student academic records, and extends to cross-divisional partnerships and collaborations across campus and the UC system.
The integrated Enrollment Management function includes four key offices: Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, the University Registrar, and Enrollment Management Analytics. Overseeing more than 150 full-time employees and over 180 student employees and a $15-million operating budget, the AVC of Enrollment Management is a key part of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor’s team, with responsibilities that help ensure the university’s core goals for both its students and academic programs. UC Davis received 95,000 applicants in its recent application period, up from 60,000 applications five years ago, with an admission rate of about 35 percent. UC Davis provides over $600 million in financial aid and scholarships, mostly need-based, to students. Current total enrollment is 38,000 with 30,000 undergraduates, with the Academic Senate’s Committee on Admissions and Enrollment setting undergraduate admissions policy.
Bachelor's Degree, and 5 years or more of university admissions or enrollment management experience (including 2 years or more of supervisor/manager experience) at an institution of comparable size and complexity.
Experience with highly selective undergraduate admissions recruitment, operations and programs.
Experience leading organizational planning and management strategy meetings; ability to provide broad perspective, and think strategically, balancing policy and practice.

Experience in fiscal management, human resource management, policy development, strategic planning, supervision, conflict management, data-driven decision making, and organizational problem solving.
Demonstrated track record of managing, mentoring, and guiding staff.

A strong commitment to and champion of diversity, equity and inclusion.
