To recruit and enroll prospective Nursing students into the ADN, RN to BSN, TBSN and Accelerated Nursing programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Supervises (2) qty. Transfer Admission Counselors
a. Monitors recruitment activities in relation to enrollment goal attainment
b. Provides guidance, training and direction
c. Manages the daily activities of the Transfer Counselors
2.) Performs the following duties related to recruitment:
a. Design, implement and manage the recruitment plan for the Transfer and Adult Nursing populations.
b. Recruits new students into the various adult nursing programs, AD.N, RN to BSN, ABSN and TBSN. Specific populations to be determined later.
3.) Performs the following duties related to marketing and recruitment:
a. Represents MSMU at community college and other specialty college fairs;
b. Provides individual admission counseling and follow up via phone, email and printed communications;
c. Establishes and maintains media marketing, as appropriate;
d. Plans and implements Nursing information sessions on both campuses;
e. Participates in Frosh related admission events as appropriate, Nursing Orientation and other events, as appropriate;
f. Maintains records and perform data analysis on all activities;
g. Provides regular reports on activities and admission status.
4.) Perform the following duties related to admissions:
a. Participates in planning activities of the Undergraduate Admissions staff;
b. Coordinate and lead the Transfer Team Meetings
c. Serves as a member of the Nursing Admission committee;
d. Evaluates admission files for all programs;
e. Provides counseling and follow-up on individual students' financial aid.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Works closely and collegially with the: Director of Advisement, Coordinator of Nursing Advisement and Testing, Nursing Program Faculty, Student Financing staff, Registrar and other staff and departments, as appropriate.
2. Actively participates in staff and other planning meetings
3. Participates in professional associations (e.g., Western Association of College Admissions Counselors).
4. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Working knowledge of the higher education system (public, private, local, national, international).
Extensive understanding of the structure of college admissions and of public and private high school counseling; analysis of transcripts and standardized tests; and the role of an Associate of Arts degree versus a Bachelor's degree.
Sufficient working knowledge of computers and word-processing, spreadsheet, database and/or other software applications currently used by the department.
Knowledge of the healthcare industry and Nursing occupation desired.
Understanding of financial aid policies and procedures helpful.
