Responsibilities: 40% Attends college days at junior/community colleges and college related conventions. Requires evening, overnight and weekend travel. Extensive travel. Serves as liaison with community/junior colleges and Tarleton's off-campus locations. Schedules recruiting opportunities with junior/community college students either at their location or on campus.
16% Assists in developing transfer recruit plans. Assists with transcript articulation updates. Counsels walk-in prospective students. Enters prospect information cards daily into student information system.
15% Responsible for maintenance, transportation and assembly of materials/items at recruiting table.
15% Generates thank you letters to the contact for the recruiting event. Answers inquiries from interested prospective students. Mails recruiting packets to prospective students. Provides telecounseling to prospective/best prospect/pending/admitted students. Follows up with attendees of events on campus or coordinated events at the junior/community college.
6% Meets with department heads to stay current on curriculum and degrees offers (with School Relations recruiters). Provides weekly updates on recruiting efforts.
6% Attends fairs at Fort Worth and Waco locations. Attends Texan Tour at information tables and coordinate information sessions.
2% Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of related experience in advising and recruiting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of admissions functions of higher education. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Must have the ability to travel to a variety of work locations. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may require evenings, weekends and overnight stays.
