The University of Pikeville is seeking an energetic and sales-oriented recruiter to focus on prospective students who have a desire to enroll in a variety of online programs. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor for Online Programs will identify, engage and support prospective students in all phases of the recruitment/enrollment process to advance the strategic online enrollment goals. Working over the phone and with various other forms of communication, this professional will introduce students to the exciting online learning experience within our various colleges. Additionally, the Admissions Counselor of Online Programs will function as a liaison with Student Affairs to ensure the best possible student experience.
Act as the main point of contact for perspective and enrolled online students.
Provides timely information via email, phone and texts.
Troubleshoots student support issues and coordinates solutions across online service and business units.
Produces weekly applicant and inquiry reports.
Meets with business and industry leaders in the immediate area to develop demand for expertise derived from our online program options.
Becomes a functional user of our CRM (Fireworks) to develop and deliver a communications flow to online students and other constituents.
As a member of a high-performing team, meets performance goals and generates referral activity.
Guides prospective students through the admissions processes by clearly communicating program requirements, transfer credits, payment options, time commitment, technology requirements and student support services.
Introduces new students to the online classroom and Learning Management System (LMS).
Works with a team to ensure student success.
Keeps accurate records of student information observing confidentiality.
Participates in online College Fair events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position requires daily face-to-face contact with co-workers and work-study students in order to divide duties, conduct meetings, coordinate schedules, and assign jobs. Contact with current students often occurs for counseling purposes on personal and/or school related issues. Contact with potential students, parents, and local schools is vital in order to discuss recruitment, recruitment issues, and financial aid issues, as well as to provide a general exchange of information.
These relationships are maintained through e-mail, texting, telephone, social networking sites such as Facebook, and person-to-person contact.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of work experience in higher education or online sales.
Functional knowledge of all social media platforms including the use of Hootsuite.
Proficient with the Internet and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Self-motivated and passionate with determination to provide exceptional service.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and confident phone presence.
Self-started with vision for how to develop the target populations.
Experience working as part of a small, close-knit team.
Driven to be successful and self-motivated to overcome challenges.
Provides a positive example to students by supporting the University’s mission.
