General Statement of Duties
The Enrollment Specialist serves an integral role in the provision of services in the MWCC Enrollment Management Team. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build excellent rapport among students and colleagues on all campuses, and while embracing and driving necessary change. The successful candidate will assist in student enrollment from point of recruitment to enrollment including: application and credential data entry and evaluation, campus-based interviews; individual and group presentations; initial course registration, off-campus recruitment outreach to prospective students, with particular emphasis on ethnically diverse groups and organizations. Evening and weekend work is required along with the ability to travel to all campuses. The Enrollment Specialist reports to the Dean of Enrollment in fulfilling the various responsibilities of MWCC's recruitment and enrollment goals for MWCC's Dual Language program for Spanish speaking students. The Enrollment Specialist is a front-facing representative throughout the College's service delivery area, and must have a sincere commitment to MWCC's mission, institutional policies, and recruitment efforts. Candidates must have a positive attitude, be student-centered, motivated, with a high degree of commitment to excellence in providing exceptional student services. This position is a part-time, grant-funded, 18- hours per week position through 09/31/19 on both Gardner and Leominster Campus.
Attendance at college nights, day programs and community events to provide prospective students with comprehensive information about enrollment and student services, including financial aid requirements;
Conducts individual and small group campus-based information and interviews;
Plans recruitment programs and activities, such as entering (as needed) and evaluating application credentials and renders admissions decisions for applicants;
Performs all necessary follow-up activities to complete application files and clarifies enrollment processes and decisions with students;
Advises students on academic plans, course selection, curriculum, and register students into appropriate academic coursework after preliminary review of transcripts, test scores, and transfer credits, as needed;
Utilizes Advisor Link to record comments for students;
Provide academic, career and transfer advising services to assist students with plans upon degree completion;
Coordinates with the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, Education, Humanities, and Communications as necessary to recruit a cohort of students for the Dual Language program;
Serves at various enrollment events, including open houses, enrollment events, coordinating as necessary. Working hours may be subject to change during peak enrollment periods;

Master's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field;
Two (2) years experience and/or training that includes marketing, public relations, college admissions, credit evaluation, and academic counseling/advisement; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must hold a valid driver's license and reliable transportation;
Evening and Weekend work is required;
Professional working proficiency (Spanish)
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND APTITUDES:
Demonstrated understanding of, and outstanding commitment to, the MWCC mission and student populations served and ensuring exceptional customer service;
Excellent public speaking, communication, writing and organizational skills, and high energy;
Candidate must have excellent communication skills and a student-centered, high energy approach to presenting to large and small groups;
Ability to deal effectively with students, families, school counselors, MWCC students/faculty/staff/alumni, and others, requiring individual interviewing/advising skills, and marketing skills;
Candidates must be motivated, with a high degree of creativity, leadership, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Champion for student success and developing a positive learning environment where diversity and pluralism are valued.
Two to three years of previous admissions or higher education related experience; or a combination of admissions experience and education will be considered in satisfying these requirements;
Direct experience at the community college level;
Experience and/or familiarity with the Banner student record system, Salesforce and Target X or similar CRM used for college admissions;
Demonstrated success and experience working with students from diverse settings.
