Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Undergraduate Admissions Counselor, High School Outreach will organize and administer motivational and informational programs throughout California aimed at enrolling more well-prepared and high-achieving students on campus, and will initiate community contact to further develop UC Irvine's network of individuals who proactively address the issue of educational attainment and achievement among all California residents. Responsible for evaluation of freshmen applicants based on self-reported information, official transcripts, and other pertinent documents. As an official representative of the University, the incumbent is available to prospective and admitted students, their families, the campus community, and the general public to interpret, enforce, and explain University policies and regulations. Represents the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the University at workshops, counselor conferences, college fairs, high school visits, and a variety of on and off-campus yield events. In addition, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for specialized coordination duties related to special populations and projects intended to assist in the recruitment, admission and enrollment of qualified undergraduate students.
