Responsible for Houston Outreach territory; this position is based out of the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus, and will travel for necessary work in Houston and surrounding areas.
The Admissions Counselor III, under general supervision, identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admittance and enrollment. Serves as a mentor, coordinates travel schedules and assignments, and executes on mutually recruiting plans. Represents the university; building relationships and sharing knowledge about TAMU-CC.
Identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted, enrolled, and underrepresented students.
Provides input for collaboration on recruitment and marketing plan.
Executes an effective plan for recruiting in the assigned area(s) and schools.
Coordinates with high school counselors to facilitate the applications process.
Tracks and follows up with targeted students and parents.
Advises prospective students about admissions statuses, policies, and office programs.
Develops working relationships with TAMUS members and other institutions, departments, counselors, and advisors to enhance customer service and satisfaction. Disseminates admissions information.
Conducts on and off campus public speaking and maintains related records.
Reviews admission applications and assists in conducting third reviews of applications.
Works directly with applicants and their parents to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints, and appeals of admissions denials.
Completes reports on programs/projects. Proposes, organizes, plans and coordinates events including accommodations, itineraries, meals, speakers, and records.
Coordinates major office programs. Serves on office committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Three (3) years of related experience in admissions, student recruiting, or college relations.
Valid Driver License to be able to travel extensively for recruitment purposes and work irregular hours during scheduled times, including occasional weekends.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and in personal computers.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner.
Strong customer service and public presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, initiate, and organize events.
Master's degree in Education, Communications, or Business/Marketing.
Documented excellence in a professional role, dealing one-on-one with people on a daily basis in a dynamic service-oriented environment.
Experience with Banner Student Information System and/or TargetX.
$3,042.67 - $3,187.50 Monthly
