The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) seeks a new Senior Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment (SVPSE) to provide executive leadership and vision in administering a comprehensive range of services, procedures, and policies related to Strategic Enrollment. This position is very important to UTSA, as expanding enrollment strategically through recruiting and retaining students is critical to achieving President Eighmy’s vision of UTSA one short decade from now, rising to new heights as a model for student success and a great research university.
UTSA is a leading academic institution with aspirations to become a great multicultural discovery enterprise. Moreover, UTSA is a public Hispanic and urban-serving university specializing in health, cybersecurity, energy sustainability, and human and social development. With nearly 31,000 students, it is the largest university in the San Antonio metropolitan region. UTSA is highly focused on student success, meeting the educational needs of many first-generation (approximately 45 percent of UTSA undergraduates), transfer, DACA, Dreamers, Veteran and international students. For more information about UTSA, visit www.utsa.edu.
A key member of Provost Kimberly Espy’s leadership team, the SVPSE will liaise with academic deans and other vice provosts in the development of an institutional enrollment strategy for academic affairs. Among the SVPSE’s priorities will be to implement modern systems in support of enrollment management to include the use of analytics to smartly manage enrollment from recruitment to graduation, and to meet institutional metrics and goals that advance student success and research excellence.
In the fall of 2017, UTSA launched a Presidential Initiative on Strategic Enrollment to shape the university’s future through targeted growth. A UTSA Strategic Enrollment Planning Task Force embarked on a year-long process to create the first phase of the UTSA Strategic Enrollment Plan. The outcome of this work is an integrated strategic enrollment plan that relies on well-designed strategy action plans. The new SVPSE will have a significant responsibility to define and lead a re-envisioned strategic enrollment organization that will be critical for UTSA to achieve its aggressive growth plans.
