Marks Education (www.markseducation.com) seeks a full-time counselor to work as part of a team offering college and educational counseling to students preparing for pre-high school, high school, college, transfer, and graduate admissions.
Marks Education works with students and families from around the country and the world, via in-person meetings, telephone, Skype/FaceTime/Zoom, and email. We work with students and parents to promote informed, strategic thinking, to identify and make the most of all available options, and to strike the right balance between optimistic and realistic choices in the search for best-fit opportunities.

Advise and effectively support students and parents through each phase of the college and/or school admission process from academic counseling and curriculum and extracurricular planning, to essay and application work.
Research and stay abreast of admissions-related issues and trends through conference attendance, campus visits, and networking.
Liaise with tutoring and test prep division of Marks Education in development of testing and academic support plans.
Other duties, as assigned.
Salary is commensurate with experience, plus generous benefits. This position is based in Bethesda, Maryland, but a successful candidate must also be willing to travel occasionally to our McLean, Virginia and Washington, D.C. offices for client meetings.

B.A./B.S., or advanced degree.
3-5 years of selective college/graduate admission/advising, teaching, school counseling/admission, or related experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with an ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects.
Eagerness both to take the initiative and work with a dynamic team.
