This position is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and general assessment for all recruitment programs, events, and tours on and off campus, for the Office of Admissions. In addition, this position will supervise professional staff and student workers and serve as the advisor to the universityâ™s Jag Guides.
This position typically works Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. â“ 5 p.m. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and peak times. Some travel is required.
Provide direction and supervision to Admissions Counselor â“ Events and Tours and student staff/tour guides. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Universityâ™s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and retaining employees; planning, assigning tasks, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Develop robust training and development program for student staff/tour guides.
Strategically plan and oversee the daily campus visit experience. Coordinate scheduling and registration to include proper communication with guests, office and campus, maintenance of the registration process, staffing, room reservations, and the creation of special agendas and campus collaboration.
Coordinate admissions-sponsored special events. These events may include, but not limited to: Jaguar Days (Preview Day), Counselor Updates, Admitted Student Events, regional Student Receptions, Transfer Days, etc. Responsible for the program creation, implementation, and general event planning. Secures student staffing for visit programs and assigns work schedules to ensure proper coverage of all campus visitation needs.
Develop and implement comprehensive assessment plan for Visitors Services area. Maintain extensive data on visitor numbers, behavior and populations using CRM (client relationship management) tool. Develop surveys and rubrics.
Develop campus visit experience for K-8th grade students.
Develop and coordinate outreach plan for area businesses and community organizations to promote higher education and A&M-SA.
May assist with college fairs, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree in applicable field and six years of related experience is required.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of functions of higher education.
Knowledge of recruiting and marketing.
Knowledge of CRM or event planning software.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Strong oral presentation skills and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to lead and motivate others.
Valid driverâ™s license or ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.
Position will require some evening and weekend work; may also require limited overnight travel to attend/host admissions events.
