The Office of Admissions is seeking two Admission Counselors to join their dynamic team. The purpose of the Admission Counselor is to assist prospective undergraduate students (new and transfer) by providing timely and accurate information about the college admissions process and other areas of the institution including: academic programs, student life, university housing, scholarships, and financial aid. This person will represent the University of Iowa at various on and off-campus student recruitment events and will build positive working relationships with prospective students and their families, high school counselors, community-based organization leaders, independent college counselors, and others involved in the college search process. The Admission Counselor will be the primary point of contact for prospective students in designated geographic areas and will proactively seek opportunities for outreach and engagement with students in these areas. They will support other admissions led initiatives including: on-campus open houses, daily campus visits, and off-campus outreach programs along with providing coverage for incoming phone calls, student appointments and walk-in visitors.
This position requires extensive travel including overnight, evening, and weekend hours.
