Eastern Oregon University (EOU) has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as Director of Admissions. The Director of Admissions is a full-time, 12-month, position that reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA).
The Director of Admissions has management responsibility for the efficient and successful execution of a comprehensive enrollment plan that is data-driven and evidence-based that attracts a diverse and talented pool of first-year, transfer, and international on-campus undergraduate students.
This position is responsible for annual enrollment forecasting, admissions marketing and recruitment, and the evaluation of applications. The Director provides vision to inspire, motivate, coach, and mentor professional staff and student leaders in reaching established enrollment goals.
The Director of Admissions oversees efforts to recruit and enroll a socio-economically diverse and multicultural student body. The incumbent analyzes and effectively uses data to make informed decisions and possesses knowledge of current enrollment management trends and effective practices. The Director of Admissions collaborates with University Advancement development and implementation of successful marketing recruitment campaigns.
Bachelors Degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive experience managing a complex program in a fast-paced professional work environment. Experience developing and successfully executing strategic plans, including goals, action plans, and metrics. Skills to develop and deliver marketing presentations and to convey information in an enthusiastic and dynamic manner through public speaking and presentations.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated skills to effectively take initiative, prioritize, exercise independent judgment, and develop and implement solutions. Analytical skills to prepare statistical reports and analyze a variety of data and processing systems. Proficient at writing, editing, and proofreading. Experience handling challenging, sensitive and/or confidential issues with student groups, persons of varying ages and ethnic backgrounds, special interest groups, organizations, employers and company representatives, alumni, campus staff, faculty, the public, and others. Supervisory experience required with a demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve goals.
One (1) year of experience directly related to Student Services in a higher education setting. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
Must be willing to travel (including international) and work evening and weekends as necessary.
Valid United States drivers license and valid Passport.
Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check.
Valid work authorization documents required.
