The Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Office of Admissions & Recruitment and the Office of Student Readiness, ensuring a student-centered approach to student services and creating an environment that promotes and supports a culture of excellence, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Director builds relationships with academic departments, faculty, staff and community partners, including K-12 and local businesses and organizations. Understanding the mission and vision of the College, the director facilitates the development of an annual recruitment plan in collaboration with all campus divisions to ensure practices align with enrollment trends.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
1. Foster a culture of excellence, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and in all aspects of planning and implementation of recruitment and admissions strategies. The Director is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment that promotes excellent student service in a fast-paced setting. 2. Work collaboratively with the Dean of Enrollment Management and the Office of Strategic Communications to develop a comprehensive recruitment plan that aligns with institutional mission, vision, and strategic goals. Monitor enrollment trends and makes data-informed recommendations for new student recruitment strategies and goals. 3. Initiate, build and maintain partnerships with the K-12 school districts, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, and local community organizations to expand enrollment opportunities. Frequently represent the College throughout the service region. 4. Manage the day-to-day operation of the Admissions and Recruitment Office, including the implementation and compliance with all office policies, programs, and services; supervise and evaluate all assigned personnel; and manage office budget. Provide leadership, mentorship and staff development opportunities to support and encourage professional growth. 5. Coordinate all admissions counseling services including counseling of prospective, transfer, and re-admitted students; review and screen applications for selective admissions; and initial screening for academic readiness. 6. Promote and maintain a strong and effective collaborative working relationship across all areas of Academic and Student Affairs with regard to admissions requirements, enrollment trends, and marketing strategies to enhance recruitment opportunities. Work alongside faculty and academic departments to identify and promote recruitment events. 7. Provide leadership and direction to the Office of Student Readiness. Remain current on academic preparation as it relates to student enrollment and retention. 8. Direct the use of technology and end user training for Admissions and Recruitment Office staff and remains current on adopted College technology. 9. Oversee SEVIS compliance and international student enrollment; serve as PDSO for Immigration and Customs Enforcement SEVIS federal student tracking and governmental regulatory reports. 10. Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Research with on-going assessment of the effectiveness of Admissions process. Coordinate planning and evaluation activities for Admissions and oversee reports, program reviews and strategic planning, etc.
1. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Three years of demonstrated progressive management experience including supervisory responsibility in a college admissions setting. 3. Experience with an integrated student information system and the use of technology in admissions and recruitment. 4. Experience in collaborating with community organizations. 5. Demonstrated knowledge and application of successful admissions practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion. 6. Evidence of professional development. 7. Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite for written communications, presentations, and other office functions. 8. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
COMPENSATION: Annual salary range of $75,000 to $82,500 (dependent upon qualifications). Full-time, Non-unit Professional position that includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program.
