Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Admissions Counselor for the Office of Enrollment Services within the School of Health Professions. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Admissions Counselor performs significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary to accomplish enrollment goals and meet the admissions needs of academic departments.
In collaboration with the Program Manager, plans and evaluates the effectiveness of all recruitment strategies.
Participates in admissions activities including marketing, travel, recruitment events, interviews, transcript evaluations and communication flow.
Maintains the Admissions Booklet, Online Application, website and other admissions marketing materials.
Verifies application and applicant data is correct in the application or student data system.
Serves as Admissions Office liaison to university-wide recruitment programs.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in admissions, recruitment or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience making presentations.
Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple constituencies including faculty, students and staff and must work well independently.
Proven oral and written communications skills; experience in a self-directed position, and the proven ability to set and meet deadlines.
Must be detail-oriented.
Strong computer skills, including experience with social medial channels and expertise in Microsoft Office is preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Evening and weekend hours and travel within and outside of the state is required.
This position is non-state funded.
