The primary purpose of an admissions counselor is to serveas a liaison between the university and the community at large. To serve inthis capacity entails visiting with high school guidance counselors, students& their parents, and other education officials without supervision atprivate visits in high schools, college fairs, and at other special functionsthroughout Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, SouthCarolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri.
Duties will include: representing UTC at day & eveningprograms, high school visits, scholarship programs, etc. primarily throughoutsurrounding states; interacting with prospective students who visit or call theAdmissions office including high school students, transfer students, foreignstudents, parents and adult students; follow-up with initial contacts made viamail, email, telephone and private visits; participate in specialized programslike Freshman/Transfer Orientation, phone calling campaigns, and off-campusevents; plan and coordinate recruitment events for prospective students inspecified areas such as overnight trips to campus; and conduct daily tour talkpresentations to visitors explaining college opportunities available to studentsenrolled at UTC.

Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of admission policies and academic programs
Ability to lift and load boxes
