Clemson University is seeking a dynamic leader to advance and develop strategic enrollment goals. The title of Associate Vice President or Associate Provost will be determined based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost and interacts frequently with the president, chief of staff, chief financial officer, deans and other university leaders, serving as the key representative for student enrollment, retention and degree management at Clemson University. This is a high-impact position that will help shape the quality and diversity of the undergraduate student body at Clemson University through the Strategic Enrollment Plan.
The Associate Vice President/Associate Provost for Enrollment Management provides oversight for University Admissions, Student Financial Aid, the Registrar's Office, and the Visitor's Center. This position has 150 reports and will provide leadership and vision in student success, marketing, recruiting, and outreach for freshmen and transfer students. In partnership with Clemson's seven academic colleges, the Associate Vice President/Associate Provost will work to ensure the recruitment and retention goals are aligned with the university's strategic plan, ClemsonForward.
The Associate Vice President/Associate Provost for Enrollment Management serves as a key member of the Provost's leadership team and advises the university administration on various national trends, federal and state requirements, and issues facing enrollment in higher education.
40% - Essential - Enrollment Management Leadership: Provides leadership to the Admissions Office, Student Financial Aid, Records/Registration and other units related to student enrollment. Serves as the principal leader for implementation of enrollment strategies. Develops, implements and oversees the marketing, recruiting, outreach admissions, financial aid of students to shape the undergraduate class in line with institutional goals.
25% - Essential - Collaboration: Collaborates with the academy and other campus entities in the development of short-range and long-range enrollment goals. Serves as a resource and advisor for Clemson's senior administration. Sustains an up-to-date knowledge of national enrollment trends, federal and state requirements and best practices.
20% - Essential - Representation: Builds the national recruitment and admissions reputation of the university to attract and retain a diverse, high quality student body. Represents the university to students, parents, alumni and academic counselors and provides a national and international visibility for Clemson University.
15% - Essential - Executive Leadership: Serves as key member of the Provost's leadership team and shapes the future direction for enrollment management goals.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master's degree with a terminal degree preferred. Five or more years of progressive experience in higher education enrollment management or student success and demonstrated leadership at an administrative level. Candidates with appropriate credentials and experience may express interest for this position to be offered with the title Associate Provost and Professor with tenure in an academic department. Other desired competencies include outstanding verbal and written communication skills, a focus on customer service and continuous improvement through assessment, strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Lastly, the ideal candidate will already be serving in this role, or in a similar role.

Collaboration with the academic colleges and other university divisions to development and implement enrollment goals and student success; Build and maintain the national and international recruitment and admissions reputation of the university to attract and retain diverse, high-quality students; Participate in national professional activities representing Clemson University; Serve on university committees and leadership groups to represent enrollment management
