The Ohio State University at Newark is accepting online applications for two (2) full-time Admissions Counselor and Staff Assistant positions.
Summary of Duties:
Leads and directs the recruitment activities for transfer students. Visits schools and outreach sites representing The Ohio State University at Newark, making formal presentations and answering questions regarding admission, financial aid, academic and extracurricular programs on campus. Counsels and corresponds with potential transfer and undergraduate students, applicants and enrollees and assists each with the admissions and enrollment processes. Administrative responsibilities include such tasks as supervision of student employees and telecounselors in the office one evening each week; playing an important role in the office's involvement in orientation; managing purchase orders for the office and inventory of all giveaway items; and lead counselor for all GED prospective students. Assists the admissions team in planning for the future by using a student-centered, data-driven, innovative and creative approach.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in counseling or college admission. Requires successful completion of a background check.
Preferred: Master's degree in an appropriate field.
