The University of Maryland School of Social Work has an opening for an Admissions Counselor/ Recruiter to manage and facilitate graduate student recruitment for the MSW program at both the Shady Grove (USG) and Baltimore locations. The person in this role coordinates and facilitates the recruitment activities for the MSW Program including the staffing of open houses, information sessions, recruitment travel and office-based online recruitment hours. The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter provides admissions counseling to prospective students, maintains prospective student databases and communications using CRM Recruit software, and participates in the review of applications for admissions. Although the person in this position serves as a primary resource person for admissions staff on matters relating to the USG campus, they will also serve as a recruiter for the Baltimore location. This position will require frequent travel to different SSW locations and graduate admissions events. This position reports to and works closely with the Associate Director of Admissions on developing recruitment publications and SSW web-based content to include relevant information about the MSW program. The Admissions Counselor (Recruiter) also works closely with the USG-MSW Program Directors, Field Coordinator, and serves on the Strategic Enrollment Management Committee for the School of Social Work. The person in this role will assist with the selection, training, and organization of MSW Admissions Ambassadorial Network. Access to reliable transportation is required.

Coordinate marketing and e-communications using social media & broadcast emailing.
Assist prospective applicants with the admissions inquires & process.
Coordinate recruitment events/services at both the USG and Baltimore locations (Open Houses, Information Sessions, and open office hours).
Review of admission applications during the fall and spring semesters.
Maintains database tracking of communications with prospective MSW students.
Coordinate recruitment efforts under the direction of the Associate Director of Admissions.
Develop relevant recruitment materials for students (FAQs).
Communicate with newly admitted applicants who have not enrolled.
Act as a USG liaison to faculty/students/staff concerning the MSW program.
Coordinate MSW program recruitment efforts as a member of the Strategic Enrollment Management Committee.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors in related field; MSW preferred. Experience: One (1) year of related experience preferably in admissions, student enrollment, or experience working in a higher education setting preferred. Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective writing and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft program systems
The Hiring Range is in the low to mid $40,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
