The University of Cincinnati’s Blue Ash College seeks applicants for the position of Admissions Counselor in the UC Blue Ash College Admissions Office. UC Blue Ash College is the second largest regional college in Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students. The Admissions Counselor will report to the Assistant Director of Admissions and will be responsible for supporting the mission of UC Blue Ash College and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all other activities. The position is located at the UC Blue Ash Campus, located in Blue Ash, Ohio.
In collaboration with office leadership and other admissions team members, responsibilities of the position include:
Coordinate student recruitment for targeted freshman, transfer, and under-represented groups and represent UC Blue Ash College at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment and yield events
Coordinate student recruitment for an assigned local geographical area and represent the college at college fairs, community college visits, and other recruitment and yield events
Effectively communicate with individuals and groups; Possesses the ability to connect quickly and authentically with people from a variety of different professional and cultural backgrounds
Ability and willingness to work some evenings/weekends
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year experience; OR Associate’s degree with three (3) years’ experience; OR five (5) years’ experience.
Experience must be in university admissions and/or counseling high school or college students or related field.
Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
Confidence and the ability to execute projects both independently and as a member of a team
High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for higher education
Motivation and conflict resolution skills
Commitment to a diverse applicant pool and student body and the ability to work with people from various backgrounds
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and TechnoSolutions Slate
Experience with University of Cincinnati systems, policies, and procedures
