Associate Director of Admissions
Wells College
Wells College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Associate Director of Admissions. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Services, the Associate Director will provide day-to-day guidance and supervision for a team of admissions counselors in promoting the values and strengths of Wells College to prospective first-year, transfer and international students. Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of experience with progressive responsibility in college/university admissions, a passion for engaging with prospective students and families and a commitment to the value of private higher education rooted in the liberal arts, excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and the ability to speak publicly and interact with students and families via various formats. Must also possess strong writing skills and the ability to work independently, handle confidential information in a professional manner, excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, meet goals and deadlines and have the ability to form collaborative working relationships with others and contribute positively as a member of our team. Preference will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following: Master's degree and/or five or more years of experience in college/university admissions, excellent technical/computer skills - including CRM systems (i.e. Slate), student information systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, database systems, the ability to mine and analyze data to inform decision making, proficiency with social media, experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including international students and proficiency with multiple languages (Spanish proficiency preferred). Wells College is a small coeducational liberal arts college located in the village of Aurora, New York, which offers affordable, family-friendly living within a half hour's drive of Ithaca and within a 75-minute radius of Rochester, Syracuse and numerous other colleges and universities – an area rich in natural, educational and cultural resources. The current student body numbers about 500, 76% from NY State, and 32% identifying as students of color.
