The Associate Director will provide vision, leadership, and direction for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the recruitment staff on all aspects of new student recruitment to support institutional enrollment goals for all undergraduate students including First Time Freshman, Transfer, and International students. The Associate Director serves as the number two within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
The Associate Director contributes to the successful accomplishment of the University’s enrollment objectives by working with the director to develop and implement a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate students which includes, but not limited to the following components:
development of an inquiry pool through the use of student search services,
outreach (college fairs, high school and community college visits),
high school and community college relations,
use of the web and emerging technologies,
campus visit programs, publications, and correspondence.
Other responsibility of the Associate Director include:
Serves as the designee for the director in their absence with supervision over all personnel.
Assists in developing, evaluating, and enforcing admissions policies, procedures and strategies and serves as an authoritative source of such information.
Develops aggressive recruitment policies, strategies, and territory management plans that utilize data driven decision making, personalized recruitment efforts, and greater outreach efforts based on data related to areas such as: sources and frequency of contact, demographic characteristics, majors, etc.
Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Communication to develop recruitment communication strategies, communication planning, using client relationship management strategies across multiple platforms including print, digital, and social media campaigns.
Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Dual Enrollment and the Assistant Director for Transfer Outreach to recruit and support dual enrollment and transfer students.
Leads and supervises all aspects of undergraduate student recruitment including, first time freshmen, transfer, and international efforts.
Develops short-term and long-term goals with recruitment staff to recruit a diverse student population.
Works collaboratively with campus partners including university Deans, faculty, and staff to positively impact recruitment efforts and yield.
Serves as a member of the director’s leadership team and provides leadership to the entire staff in Undergraduate Admissions including decision-making, broad strategies, and goal development and obtainment.
Contributes to the development and implementation of a communication plan for targeted populations including print, digital, web and social media platforms via various recruitment tools which may include third party software such as a CRM.
Oversees recruitment territory management and yield activities by monitoring strategies and utilizing tools such as the student information system, ACT Enrollment Information Services, and other resources to research, compile data, and produce reports on progress toward meeting enrollment goals.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required by the director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A working knowledge of database systems such as Ellucian Banner.
Demonstrated ability in team building, leadership, supervision, management, selection, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, problem solving, within the context of a college or university admissions office is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
A demonstrated understanding of the importance of building and maintaining open communication with college partners, school counselors, and community college stakeholders is required.
The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
Must have strong analytical, management, and communication skills.
Occasional overnight travel and evening and weekend work is required.
At least three year of experience in college/university admission/recruitment is required.
Supervisory experience of professional staff is required.
A proven track record for making data driven decisions to support achievement of enrollment goals is required.
Experience related to the recruitment of high ability, underrepresented student populations from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds is preferred.
Experience utilizing innovative technology such as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution is preferred.
