The Admission Counselor is recognized as a recruitment team leader. Plans, coordinates, conducts, and evaluates the recruitment of new students from a specified geographic region or population. As an outreach agent of the University, establishes and maintains contacts with key constituents to promote program and service offerings. Promotes IU Southeast through direct interaction with prospective students.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Training/experience in Admissions, College Student Personnel, Counseling/Advising or relevant higher education experience. Computer and database management skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Ability to maintain confidentiality. Detail-oriented. Excellent ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals, including interaction in person, by phone, and in writing. Proven orientation toward quality service and teamwork.
Master's degree. Familiarity with IU Southeast. Two years of admission/recruitment experience. PeopleSoft and CRM experience.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to lift 20 pounds. Sedentary work; remaining stationary for extended periods. Some evening and weekend work required.
