Department ADMISSIONS (KO-ADMS-IUKOA) Job Summary Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the position of Admissions Counselor. This is a full-time position reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and is primarily responsible for recruiting prospective students, including high school students, transfer students, and adults. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: planning and implementing admissions and student recruitment activities; visiting area high schools, businesses, and social service agencies; meeting with and counseling high school students and their parents, transfer students, and returning adult students. Regular duties include: reviewing applications for admissions; organizing special events; regular communication with prospective students and applicants. Will become knowledgeable about all academic programs and degrees offered by IU Kokomo. This admissions counselor position will be responsible for the recruitment of out of state students. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University. Experience in making presentations. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals and groups, including with students, parents, faculty, staff, and external constituents. Interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to think creatively. Preferred Qualifications Experience in college/university admissions or a related student personnel function, or marketing. Bilingual (Spanish). Strong computer skills, including experience with social media channels and expertise with Microsoft Office Suite. Working Conditions / Demands Limited overnight travel will be required. Evening and weekend hours are routinely required.
