The Admissions Counselor II, under general supervision, works collaboratively with Enrollment Management departments to identify and recruit prospective new students, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted, enrolled, and underrepresented students. Serves as an enrollment process coach/mentor, coordinated travel schedules and assignments, and develops recruiting plans. Responsibilities: - Manages assigned geographical territory for recruitment purposes to include conducting research and goal setting; serve as the University's single point of contact within the geographical area for schools, colleges, community & civic organizations and alumni as well as university officials; serves as the single point of contact for the students and parents initial introduction to Prairie View A&M University and required admission and financial aid documentations; develops and implements effective transfer recruitment and marketing strategies; travels in rental or personal vehicle to colleges, high schools and educational fairs to conduct presentations and seminars; serves on the university recruitment travel team to conduct recruitment seminars/workshops off-campus; assists the administrative staff in updating and retrieving recruit data from banner.
- Plans and implements data driven special recruiting events within your assigned responsibilities and be prepared to augment out-of-state or in-state recruitment task force aimed at providing on-stop customer service center to a distant prospective student.
- Collects, maintains and analyzes retention and recruitment statistical data on high schools, student and community college profiles within an area of assignment to enhance the enrollment yield rates. Participates in pre-college and orientation programs aimed at providing recruitment pipelines. Utilizes Recruit--Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to effectively communicate a consistent message to students during all phases of the enrollment funnel and ensure all prospective student data is captured in Recruit--CRM.
- Builds and maintains a broad correlation of relationships with colleagues and departments across campus and alumni with in your area of operation. Work collaboratively with other units, as appropriate, to support recruitment, outreach, admissions and enrollment at the university. Participates in training, meetings and serve on campus as chair or committee members.
- Assists the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, K-12 Partnerships and Outreach and Academic departments with developing and finalizing articulation agreements with universities, community colleges, and high schools. Assist in other within the enrollment funnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor?s degree
- One year of related experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Knowledge of recruiting and admissions functions of higher education.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
