The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), founded in 1937, is an organization of nearly 14,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.

We are currently looking for a Learning Editor to support our Arlington, VA office. During COVID, this position will be temporarily remote.

 

SUMMARY

 

The Learning Editor will be responsible for editing and managing professional development initiatives and generating content for professional development resources for the association’s members. The editor collaborates with internal and external content experts, as well as institutional leaders, to develop high-quality resources for college admission counseling professionals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Edit instructional materials to comply with NACAC editorial standards.
  • Collaborate with staff and subject matter experts to produce engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
  • Work with the subject matter experts and instructional designers developing the content to deliver the project on-time and on-budget.
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, workbooks, instructor guides, slides etc.)
  • Implement and monitor learning assessments and deliver timely reports to measure the effectiveness of the course.
  • Coordinate the deployment of learning evaluations and compile required reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, graphic design, graphic communications, instructional design and/or digital media.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in associations, school and/or college counseling, college admission, or the educational industry.
  • Knowledge of the transition from high school to postsecondary education.
  • Strong copy editing, media development and graphic design skills.
  • Proficient in at least one rapid-development eLearning tool, such as Articulate Storyline, Lectora, or Adobe Captivate preferred.
  • Proficient with media design and editing tools such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Audition, Audacity and Camtasia preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate many projects and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Project planning skills specifically with learning project development.
  • Ability to take ownership of work and meet deadlines while working independently.
  • Ability to relate to and work cooperatively with staff, members, program attendees, external content experts, and vendors while exhibiting a high-level of customer service.
  • Team oriented approach, with appreciation for creative and entrepreneurial efforts.
