Communications Specialist

The Admissions Communications Specialist for Oregon Institute of Technology will work closely with Admissions and Marketing leadership implementing and managing the marketing and communications plans out of the Customer Relationship Management CRM software Slate and support the recruitment, marketing, and yield efforts of the Office of Admissions. The position serves as the lead for Admissions in the day-to-day communication duties, long-term build-out, and overall assessment of communications flows, campaigns, and ad-hoc messaging, as well as the ongoing development and maintenance of the CRM database. The successful candidate will be a detail oriented individual with strong time management skills and be flexible, having the ability to adapt to rapid changes while staying informed on the latest admissions trends in strategic student search, Slate enhancements, as well as the ever-evolving best practices and ethics of the admissions and enrollment profession. The ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with Admissions and Marketing to create robust, multi-channeled communications to build the Oregon Tech brand across multiple cohorts is a critical marker of success for this position. Demonstrated ability to query, analyze, and test complex datasets across multiple data tables is a must, including the ability to learn HTML, XML, and Slate Configurable Joins. Application of e-marketing, telecommunications, advertising, and university brand standards in communications to plan and execute the build-out and assessment of communication flow and campaigns is critical. In addition, the ability to troubleshoot hardware issues related to printing, folding, and sending messages and maintaining stock for the timely sending of many different communications is essential. Attendance of annual Slate Summit in June (contingent upon available funding), active engagement in Slate Community, and engaged participation, testing, and assessment in Slate development driven by Director and Business Systems Analysis is required.
