Marks Education (www.markseducation.com) seeks a full-time counselor who is eager to work as part of a team offering college and educational counseling to students preparing for pre-high school, high school, college, transfer, and graduate admissions.
We provide one-on-one customized and strategic educational advising and admission counseling to students and their families. Applicants should be prepared to advise and effectively support students and parents through each phase of the college and/or school admission process.
The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. You must also possess the following:
B.A./B.S., or advanced degree
3-5 years of selective college/graduate admission/advising, teaching, school counseling/admission, or related experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task
Self-awareness, sensitivity, and a commitment to a growth mindset
Knowledge of the changing college landscape and enthusiasm for tracking data and trends
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a generous bonus opportunity, plus an industry leading benefits package. This position is based in Bethesda, Maryland, but will require occasional travel to our McLean, Virginia and Washington, D.C. offices for client meetings. Our student appointments are scheduled 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM but during busy times of the year, there will be some evening work.

Marks Education College Admission Counseling and Test Prep Tutoring in Bethesda, Maryland, McLean, Virginia and Washington, D.C., was founded by Nina Marks in 2004, building on her many years of distinguished teaching, leadership, and college counseling at the National Cathedral School in Washington, DC. In 2006, Nitin Sawhney started the Tutoring Division of Marks Education, which has enjoyed extraordinary test prep tutoring results. Since then, we added counseling services for K-12, graduate, graduate and professional school admission counseling. This completed our vision to help students at every educational level.
