Director of Admissions Johnson C. Smith University Charlotte, North Carolina Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) invites applications and nominations for the Director of Admissions. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, dynamic professional to develop and lead our admissions team. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director provides strategic leadership in advancing optimal recruitment and admissions initiatives to meet the University’s enrollment goals and manages a comprehensive, data-driven recruitment and admissions program to attract, admit and retain qualified freshmen and transfer students. Plans, develops and leads an aggressive strategic recruitment plan encompassing all areas of student recruitment including traditional, non-traditional, graduate and international students as well as other targeted populations. The Director will identify prospective students through market and applicant research; implement, monitor, administer and evaluate University polices relative to Admissions, including but not limited to recruitment and marketing as well as assessment of enrollment patterns and projections. In addition, the Director develops policies and procedures to enhance recruitment, admission, scholastic performance and retention of students; implements data collection and security systems; provides relevant information to campus offices relative to the entering class including, but not limited to applications, approvals, matriculations, territory productivity and other enrollment management strategies. The Director collaborates with colleagues across the University to develop marketing plans, publications and web strategies that inform and attract prospective students. The next Director will lead and develop a strong, team-oriented staff and collaborate with the Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, University College, Athletics, and other units to recruit and enroll students. The position is a full-time, 12-month administrative position with a competitive salary and benefits. Requirements: Master’s degree in student personnel services or a related field, and five to eight years of progressive experience in admissions or enrollment management are required. Experience as Associate Director of Admissions is preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills; expertise in enrollment management; strong data management and analytical skills; sound professional judgment; initiative and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff. Experience with MS Office applications, enterprise resource systems (i.e. Jenzabar, Banner or PeopleSoft), and customer relationship management tools (i.e. EMAS) is required. Must be organized and an effective time manager with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered. Finalists for this position are subject to a background check.
