Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment, this position serves to assist with oversight of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. S/he will be a mid-level manager assuming responsibilities for overseeing current and implementing new strategies/procedures for activities associated with Veterans/Military friendly (40%), transfer (30%), and freshmen (30%). This position will have a significant portion of their position assisting with SLATECRM and further implementation of SLATE for the success of engagement, recruitment, communications and enrollment. The Associate Director will also be an influencer within the department to assist with overall: recruiting, admission, operational efficiencies, and associated policies.
The Associate Director Undergraduate Admissions position will: ? Support the AVP by serving as a leader/mentor for undergraduate staff; providing reporting analytics to support recruitment initiatives and application reading processes, and contributing to the development of strategic plans leading to meeting enrollment goals. Serve as department leader in the absence of the AVP. ? Assist with day-to-day operations as well as helping develop training in response to initiatives and staff needs. ? Provide leadership with building Veterans/Military friendly recruitment and enrollment plan; integrating plan into Admissions and with other university stakeholders ? Assist with management prospect, inquiry, applicant, and enrolling data; this may include report building, analysis of progress and responsiveness to data intelligence. ? Manage own caseload of students including travel. ? Assist with planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus recruiting and yield events; assist with the student volunteers and alumni volunteers. ? Collaborate and innovate with members of the community regarding admissions and enrollment. Specifically, this role will be a managing leader of the Entering Class Management Team and working with university enrollment offices. ? Act as senior-level spokesperson of the department and may be asked to represent the interests of the department with internal and external stakeholders at various meetings. ? Responsible for learning and strictly complying with all applicable NCAA and MAAC athletic regulations with regard to student recruitment and admissions eligibility. Work closely with Admissions Athletic liaison and athletic department representatives. ? Other duties as assigned by the AVP/Director of Admissions.
Experience and Requirements
? 5-7 years of experience in college/university admissions and at least 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience (equivalent experience will be considered). ? Extensive high school visitation and college fairs/nights (both in and out of state), and college transfer recruitment initiatives. ? Provide solutions and services to meet evolving needs of the admission office to be responsive to changing technology and platform delivery needs. Preferred SLATECRM experiences (1-2 years). ? Ability to create and manage personal work schedule; arranging travel, managing approved travel budget and tracking individual expenses. ? Understanding and proven experience with holistic admission decision-making and understanding of the challenges of small university enrollment. ? Demonstrate initiative to develop strategies to engage with prospective students and use of personalized counseling through tele-counseling, interviewing, and meeting with prospective students and their families. ? Experience with collaborating with other university offices to assist with meeting enrollment goals (new student and retention efforts). ? Participation in professional development (internal, external, self-directed) in order to remain apprised of topics in higher education, secondary education and other sources that may impact admissions and enrollment at the University. ? Expertise in one of the following areas of recruitment/enrollment: undergraduate, Veterans or transfer; ability to manage any/all of the other areas. ? Experience with college athletics recruitment and enrollment in order to hold future responsibility for learning and strictly complying with all applicable NCAA and MAAC athletic regulations with regard to student recruitment and admissions eligibility. Work closely with Admissions Athletic liaison and athletic department representatives. (All admissions employees must be aware of NCAA and MAAC athletic regulations.
