The Office of Admissions is the front-facing department to the public for undergraduate recruitment for the Indiana University Bloomington campus. The Office of Admissions is responsible for recruiting the freshman class each year, counseling prospective students and their families about the admissions process, providing accurate information to the public about our recruiting requirements and standards, and marketing Indiana University Bloomington.
The Senior Assistant Director develops, coordinates, implements, and participates in the recruitment efforts and admissions-related initiatives that serve to advance the undergraduate enrollment goals for the Bloomington campus, with a specific targeted recruitment territory of Northern California. This position represents the university at Northern California recruitment events, manages recruitment resources, reviews applications for the territory, interprets admissions criteria, and makes admissions decisions. Participates in department planning, campus committees and task forces, and engages in professional development activities.
This position will develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan that encompasses strategies for attracting high-quality undergraduate students to the IU Bloomington campus by determining the number of prospects, applications and admits needed to complete this target through the analysis of the area, demographic shifts, and state and national issues. Continually evaluates the recruitment process on an ongoing basis to ensure goals are met, takes actions consistent with analysis, and makes modifications to the overall approach.
Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or a related field and two years of experience in admissions, higher education, marketing, or a related field.

Master's degree. Three years of experience in admissions, recruitment, and/or marketing.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Strong computer skills. Organizational skills. Ability to work independently and under limited supervision. Ability to use discretion and independent judgement while providing complex solutions.
Working Conditions / Demands
This position requires considerable domestic travel during the fall and spring semesters. Physical requirements of this position may include lifting and carrying a variety of materials typically weighing approximately 25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
This position will be based in Northern California.
